Long Acting Reversible Methods offered at our contraceptive clinics are:

1: Implant (lasts 3 years)

  • Lasts 3 years, but can be removed earlier
  • Fertility returns immediately after stopping use

2: Intrauterine device IUDs (lasts 5-10 years)

  • Can last up to 10 years
  • Works as soon as itís put in
  • Fertility returns immediately after stopping use

3: Intrauterine system IUS (lasts 5 years)

  • Lasts 5 years, but can be removed earlier
  • Periods usually become lighter, shorter and less painful
  • Fertility returns immediately after stopping use

4: Injection (lasts 8 or 12 weeks)

  • May cause unpredictable spotting and bleeding
  • Fertility may take some time to return after stopping use
  • Once injected, it cannot be removed from the body
